2021 Letter from CEO + Addressing Shipping Delays

Sharing gratitude and appreciation for the lessons and triumphs of 2021 while preparing to embark upon 2022 with humility and refined purpose.

For many reasons, 2021 has been a year that none of us could have imagined in our wildest dreams. In the midst of a global pandemic and the resultant loss many of us have experienced, we’ve been able to grow UJUU into our own safe digital corner of the internet committed to providing exceptional value while reinforcing important affirmations of positivity, self-belief and joy.  

At UJUU, as we reflect on the year we are profoundly humbled by the realization that we are now serving a global community of over 1 Million members, and we remain grateful for the opportunity to be in community with every single one of you that has joined us on this journey. From the bottom of our hearts, Thank You!

Throughout this year we’ve also realized that with a growing community comes a growing responsibility and the requirement to urgently iterate and improve our processes to better support each of you. We must also be accountable in calling out our own shortcomings and clearly communicate our efforts to address them. 

It’s no secret to many of you that navigating supply-chain work arounds and the resultant long shipping times has been a significant challenge for us this year, primarily at our souk + SEPIA brand.  Thus, I would like to take this opportunity to apologize to all members who have been inconvenienced by delayed packages. Believe me, your frustration and disappointment is not lost on us. For those that have been affected by delayed shipments of greater than two weeks, our Customer Gratitude team will be in contact with you shortly to finalize resolution options.

We have spent the year revamping our supply-chain operations while scaling in our Customer Experience teams in order to both prevent similar bottlenecks in the future and to ensure every member feels supported and adequately informed about the progress of their exciting new purchases. We are rapidly scaling as a business; this year alone we have tripled our headcount in order to better meet your needs. And while our process is not yet perfect our entire team is personally committed to continually iterating and enhancing until we get it there.  Going into the new year we have invested in exciting new strategic partnerships to enhance our delivery, quality control, and overall product experience.
